What's Going on Here? Stouffville Main Street crosswalk ready to go

Stouffville walkers finally have a way to cross the busy Main Street stretch between Ninth Line and Mill Street, after a pedestrian crosswalk was recently installed. Talks of a Main Street cross walk have been ongoing for more than a decade.

JUST THE FACTS

• Where: Stouffville Main Street, between Freel Lane and Lloyd Street
• What: The pedestrian crossing consists of installation of signage, lights, poles, pavement marking and other items.

• When: Construction on the crossing commenced last year and the site became operational in late January. Design and construction for the crosswalk was estimated to be $125,400.

 

The crosswalk is the second one installed in Stouffville in recent years. The other crosswalk is located at Ninth Line and Elm Street, next to Glad Park Public School.
