There's plenty to do in York Region to celebrate Family Day weekend, including these five events to check out.

FAMILY DAY WEEKEND SCAVENGER HUNT
Explore Stouffville Village this Family Day Weekend with Goosechase! Learn all about what makes the Stouffville Village unique while spending time with family and friends.

When: Feb. 16 at 8 a.m. – Feb. 19 at 10 p.m.

Where: Stouffville Main Street.

How to Join:

1. Go to the App Store or Google Play.

2. Type in “Goosechase” in the search bar.

3. You can then create an account or continue as a guest.

4. Enter code DEX4WM.

5. Start completing missions from February 16 - 19.

Cost: Free.

FAMILY DAY AT THE OBSERVATORY
Families will be introduced to the wonders of astronomy through an engaging presentation and/or exciting celestial activities. Participants will tour the observatory and see a demonstration of the 74” telescope (weather dependent). Registration is required.

When: Feb. 16 and 17 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Where: David Dunlap Observatory, 123 Hillsview Dr, Richmond Hill.

Cost: Tickets are $15.69 to $17.72.

AURORA'S ARCTIC ADVENTURE
The community is invited to enjoy free family activities, including wildlife shows, mini snow tubing, campfires, story walks, skating, Canadian Lumberjack shows, professional ice carving, inflatables, live entertainment and more.

When: Saturday, Feb. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Town Park.

Cost: Free.

Note: Parking is limited – carpooling is encouraged. To ensure the safety of all skating participants, helmets are strongly recommended.

EG FAMILY FUN DAY
East Gwillimbury's Family Fun Day features a number of indoor and outdoor activities, including a free skate, 3-on-3 hockey tournament, face painting, photo booth, fire pit, music, food truck and free Cons Bread fun buns while quantities last.

You can also sign up for summer camp from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Customer Service Desk.

When: Monday, Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: East Gwillimbury Sports Complex, 914B Mt. Albert Rd, Sharon.

Cost: Free admission.

MPP LAURA FREE SKATE
Join MPP Laura Smith for the first Annual Family Day Free Skate Event. Bring your skates and join in on the fun.
