The Schwartz/Reisman Centre (SRC) in Vaughan announced it has successfully completed its outdoor sports court revitalization project, which will offer residents more recreational opportunities, including individuals with adapted needs and abilities.

Last September, the SRC received a $534,880 nonrepayable Government of Canada contribution to reinvent its outdoor sports court and create a multi-purpose fitness space for community engagement.

In addition to creating an accessible space for children, adults and families to come together and participate in sports and physical activities, the space will also be utilized by the centre’s summer camp to organize games and activities for more than 600 children.

"We are grateful to the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) for helping us revitalize our community space and investing in the Schwartz/Reisman Centre new outdoor sports court at the Joseph & Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus,” said Andrew Levy, executive director of the Schwartz/Reisman Centre.

Levy believes that this project will enhance the landscape of Vaughan while supporting economic growth by creating a welcoming health-and-fitness destination for athletes of all abilities.

The SRC is committed to its mission of building and sustaining a caring and vibrant community hub, welcoming to all. To learn more about its programs and services, visit srcentre.ca.
