'ALL LANES CLOSED': Major closures in Vaughan and Markham as well as Richmond Hill Dec. 4-8 on Highway 400 and Highway 427 along with Highway 404 trigger traffic warnings to drivers

There are new closures that are hitting Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill this week, and the traffic problems on highways 400, 427 and 404 could start as early as Monday (Dec. 4).
The Ministry of Transportation released the new closures on its 511 Ontario website, and are alerting York region drivers to the restrictions in the hopes they consider taking other routes:
- Construction on Highway 427 northbound around Highway 407 in Vaughan will leave one lane closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Dec. 4-8;
- Maintenance on the Highway 400 northbound on-ramp at Rutherford Road in Vaughan will leave "all lanes closed" from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. Dec. 4-5, according to the Ministry;
- Construction on Highway 404 southbound between Major Mackenzie Drive and Highway 7 in Markham and Richmond Hill will result in two lanes being closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Dec. 2-6;
- Construction on Highway 404 northbound between Steeles Avenue and Highway 407 in Markham will result in alternating lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Dec. 4-9;
