CP24 and CHUM 104.5 are thrilled to announce the launch of the 57th annual CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH (The Wish) toy drive campaign. The cherished city-wide initiative kicks off Thursday, Nov. 16 and runs until Sunday, Dec. 24 at 12 p.m.
The annual campaign, which kicks off tomorrow, launches with a live fundraising event on CP24 featuring appearances from charitable donors and surprise guests from 6 a.m. ET to 6 p.m. ET.
This year, The Wish introduces an innovative way to donate with a new tapping campaign. Individuals can contribute by simply tapping their credit or debit cards to donate $2, $5, or $10 at all toy drop-off locations. New, unwrapped toy donations for newborns and children up to 18 years (with preference given to toys with an outer package or cover) are gladly accepted at the official Wish drop-off locations, including:
The Wish Warehouse (1366 Blundell Road, Mississauga)
Main Lobby of Bell Media Studios (299 Queen Street West, Toronto)
In addition to tapping, monetary donations can be made online at www.TheWish.ca or in $10, $20, and $25 denominations by texting WISH to 30333. Donations of $20 or greater made online are eligible for an income tax receipt. Funds are distributed amongst participating agencies across the GTA to create safe and enjoyable holiday experiences for children and families in need.
Desjardins, North America’s leading financial cooperative group, is a proud partner of THE ORIGINAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE, held on Nov. 26 this year, and will host a toy drive in support of The Wish at the parade. Those visiting the parade are encouraged to bring toy donations to the Toronto drop-off zones, located at Berczy Park and Queen’s Park Circle.
The Wish is made possible with the generous support of the campaign’s valued partners who continue to support children and families in need, including Canadian Tire, RBC, Snow T.O., Walmart, Giant Tiger Stores Limited, Toronto Police Association and The City of Vaughan.
