The calendar has flipped to November, which means the Christmas holiday season is right around the corner. Stouffville is amping up for the return of the holiday market on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25 in Memorial Park.

The event will feature a local artisan vendor marketplace, live musical performances, magical lighting displays, food and beverage, horse-drawn carriage rides, roaming holiday characters, Santa Claus and so much more.

As a kickoff to the weekend’s festivities, the town has partnered with the Village of Stouffville to Light Up the Village. The annual tree-lighting ceremony will take place in Civic Square on Thursday, Nov. 23 at 6:30 p.m.

The Holiday Market will run for two days -- from Friday, Nov. 24 through Saturday, Nov. 25. Hours are as follows:

• Friday, Nov. 24: 5 to 9 p.m.
• Saturday, Nov. 25: 12 to 9 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. in Memorial Park, multi-platinum-selling artist, music producer, actor and JUNO-nominated artist Tyler Shaw will be performing. Tyler has been nominated for multiple JUNO Awards, and has opened for international artists, including Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara, and toured with Selena Gomez. This year, Tyler is set to release new holiday music and is including Stouffville as a stop on the tour.

The artisanal market returns with vendors throughout Memorial Park and up to 30 more vendors located inside at 19 on the Park with Latcham Art Centre’s Beyond Craft Show & Sale. Beyond Craft runs from Thursday, Nov. 23 to Sunday, Nov. 26.

“Now in its third year, the Stouffville Holiday Market has become a favourite for residents and visitors alike,” said Mayor Iain Lovatt. “Each year, our community is treated to new attractions that help grow the magic and this year is no different; from a light tunnel to the return of the carousel, I look forward to kicking off the festive season with all of you at this year’s event.”

In addition to the light tunnel and carousel, this year’s attractions include a holiday train, horse and carriage rides, LED swings, visits with the Grinch, the Nutcracker Mime, photos with Santa and more.
