The City of Vaughan will be awarding individuals who better the community and promote good citizenship with the civic honour of the Order of Vaughan.

The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). The Order of Vaughan is the highest civic honour the city bestows on individual citizens. Its first ceremony was held in 2016.

The Order of Vaughan of Vaughan will be granted to five individuals for their pivotal role in shaping the community:

“These impressive recipients come from different backgrounds and have unique skills, but they share one thing in common: they care and want to make a positive difference,” said Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca.

The award was created to pay tribute to individuals who have made a meaningful impact on Vaughan’s civic life and dedicate their time and talent to the city’s success. It recognizes leaders within athletics, education, equity and diversity, philanthropy, public service and more. To date, 63 individuals were bestowed with the honour.

The 2023 recipients will receive a pin and certificate. To learn more, visit Vaughan.ca./OrderofVaughan.
