The town has provided a few tips to help everyone enjoy a safe Halloween:

Trick-or-Treaters:

Avoid trick-or-treating alone, go with a group or with a trusted adult.

Pre-arrange a meeting spot in case anyone gets lost.

Stay on sidewalks, use caution when crossing streets and use designated crosswalks whenever possible.

Wear bright colours, reflective tape or use glowsticks to make yourself visible to drivers.

Never enter a stranger’s home for treats, wait for them outside.

Have a grown-up inspect your treats before digging in.

Drivers:

Slow down and pay attention for children who may cross the road without looking.

If possible, avoid driving in residential areas where there will be a higher volume of trick-or-treaters.

Avoid wearing a costume that makes it difficult for you to drive.
