New residents, businesses encouraged to ‘Choose Georgina’ with launch of economic development website

A new website highlighting the reasons people should choose Georgina for their homes and businesses has been launched by the town.

The website, choosegerogina.ca, is a resource for new and existing residents and businesses to explore up-to-date interactive data, videos, testimonials and economic development topics.

“The launch of this dedicated economic development site shows our commitment to attracting investment and talent to continue building a thriving and balanced economy. Georgina is the best place to live, work and play at the top of the GTA, and now we have a dedicated online space to promote it,” said Mayor Margaret Quirk.

The economic development website, which is aimed at the attraction and retention of residents and businesses, emphasizes Georgina’s features and connects people to the information and town staff they need to make an informed decision about why they should “Choose Georgina.” Anyone who wants to pursue the next steps is able to easily connect with the town’s economic development division through a contact button on every page of the website.

The website was partly funded through a $15,000 grant from York Region.

The town is working on a new economic development strategy to help direct economic growth over the next five years. The strategy will go before council at the end of 2023.
