Police urge road users to be cautious following 3 separate same-day motorcycle collisions in York Region

Collisions involving motorcycles took place in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Vaughan and Richmond Hill

York Regional Police is reminding all road users to be cautious and aware of others while sharing roadways after three separate serious collisions involving motorcycles in York Region on one day.

On Sept. 6, at 11:47 a.m., police were called to Bloomington Road and York Durham Line in Whitchurch-Stouffville for a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and dump truck. The 28-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

At 3:40 p.m., police responded to another motorcycle and motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Rutherford Road and Dufferin Street, in Vaughan. The 45-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He has since been upgraded to serious but non-life-threatening condition.

At 5:21 p.m., police were called to a collision between a motorcycle and vehicle at Bayview Avenue and Highway 7 East, in Richmond Hill. The 48-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators would like to talk to any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the areas at the time of the collisions.
