Man busted in mom's car in Vaughan for stunt driving on 1st day of school

Driver in his 20s found to be doing 107 km/h in a 50 km/h zone

A man was nabbed for stunt driving near a Vaughan school on the day students returned from summer break,

The accused now has his licence suspended for 30 days and the car he was driving impounded for 14 days after York Regional Police clocked the vehicle doing 107 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Keele Street, south of Drummond Drive, in Vaughan.

The incident took place close to Holy Jubliee Catholic Elementary School and five other schools in the local area.

Police said it's believed to be the driver's mother's vehicle.

"We told you we were stepping up enforcement around York Region’s schools," the police said in a social media post. "Slow down."
