Vaughan tow truck fire deemed suspicious

Police are deeming a tow truck fire Saturday in Vaughan as suspicious.

York Regional Police officers found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the southeast corner of a parking lot at Bathurst Street and Lebovic Campus Drive when responding to a call Sept. 16 at 12:40 a.m.

Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services extinguished the fire, police said.

The blue Chevrolet Silverado tow truck was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported, police said.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone with a video recording that captured any suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident, to come forward.
