Grant applications open for mental health, employment initiatives in Georgina

Residents who want to support employment and mental well-being through a project or initiative in Georgina may qualify to receive one of at least six $2,000 grants.

The Georgina Community Action Table, York Region and United Way GTA have collaborated to offer residents the opportunity to start new initiatives in Georgina that support employment and mental health through the Quick Action Grants program.

Residents looking for start their own initiatives are encouraged to apply for funding.

In the past year, Georgina residents have hosted more than 20 events through the program, including the Keswick Community Fridge, Georgina Youth Chess Academy, butterfly garden, financial literacy workshops and entrepreneurship seminars.

Two information sessions are being held on Sept. 6, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., and Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To register for an information session, visit shorturl.at/ozC19.
