City of Toronto byelection for Scarborough Southwest has been set for Nov. 30

The City of Toronto has set Nov. 30 as the date for its byelection for Scarborough Southwest (Ward 20).
Polls will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Nominations will officially open Thursday, Sept. 7 at 8:30 a.m. and close Monday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m.
Advance voting will be available Nov. 25, 26 (Saturday/Sunday), 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Electors will be provided with the option to vote by mail: application details will be available in September.
The seat became vacant with the resignation of Gary Crawford on July 26 -- the day before the provincial byelection for Scarborough-Guildwood which he ran in, but did not win.
Council officially declared the Ward 20 seat vacant at its meeting on Aug. 10 and opted for a byelection to fill the vacancy.
