Bear sighting reported in Mount Albert

Town says bear has been seen in the area behind the fire station

There are reports of a bear being seen in the Mount Albert area and it's not the hit TV show centred on a restaurant in Chicago. It's the real thing.

According to the Town of East Gwillimbury, the sighting of the bear was on the trail behind the fire station located on Princess Street.

The town recommends you keep your distance and don’t leave garbage or food out.

Make noise when travelling

Keep pets on a leash

If you see a bear, stay calm. Back away slowly and call the Bear Wise reporting line at 1-866-514-2327.
