A local woman with special needs has become a self-published author.
23-year-old Elizabeth Rosenberg has written her first book, which is now on display at the Maple Vaughan Public Library.
The book titled, “The Legend of Quontasmatases,” is a book aimed at young adults and people who have autism, according to Rosenberg.
Its main character Quontasmatases is a snow entity that has trouble making friends.
“The character in my book is afraid that no one will like him because of who he is,” said Rosenberg.
Eventually, he meets a guy who helps him make friends. It’s a feeling that Rosenberg can relate to.
“When I was in elementary school, I was expelled because of who I was. The characters in my books go through tough times too, just like I did, and my books made me the person I am today,” said Rosenberg in an email.
Rosenberg wants to help people who are in a similar situation and has more books being planned in the works, including a memoir.
“The Legend of Quontasmatases” is Rosenberg’s fourth book written and first to be published. She’s hoping more will be soon to come.
“Her books are far from perfect, but they are genuine, and they give an interesting perspective on life of a person who is different and knows that,” said Elena Rozenberg, Elizabeth’s mother.
