Catching Up With the Latest Construction Completions in the GTHA

Following up on our earlier story on newly started construction projects, we are also diving into the latest round of projects to be completed across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). Major construction work is all wrapped up on the following sites, a list featuring a mix of residential and commercial, along with a community centre, hotel, and a storage facility for the Finch West Line 6 LRT. Here are twelve projects completed recently across the GTHA:

Concord Park Place - Ethennonnhawahstihnen' Community Centre

Located adjacent to Bessarion station on Sheppard Line 4, this community centre is part of North York's Bayview Village area and Concord Adex's Concord Park Place neighbourhood. Developed by the City of Toronto and designed by MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects, the centre stands 4 storeys tall and serves as a new hub for community activities.

Brentwood in Woodbridge

Developed by Sunfield Communities, this residential project is located at the northwest corner of Martin Grove Road and Highway 27 in Vaughan. The development consists of 12-storey single detached houses, bringing 10 new units to the neighbourhood.

1181 Queen Street West

This condo building with retail at ground level is located at the southeast corner of Queen and Sudbury streets in Toronto's West Queen West neighbourhood and stands 15 storeys tall. Developed by Skale Developments and designed by Teeple Architects, it brings 122 new residential units to the area, complemented by the ground-floor retail spaces.

Holiday Inn Express Pearson

Designed by API Development Consultants / Saplys Architects Keystone Architecture, this 7-storey hotel is located near Pearson International Airport. Its location at 25 International Boulevard in Etobicoke provides accommodations to travellers with 110 units.

Transit City Condos TC4 & TC5

Located in Vaughan, these two condo towers are part of the Transit City Condos development. Developed by SmartCentres REIT, CentreCourt, and SmartREIT, and designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects, TC4 stands 50 storeys tall with 530 units, while TC5 is 45 storeys with 495 units. A third 35-storey tower sharing the same site has also been completed. It houses 429 market-rate rental units. Vaughan Metropolitan Centre station on University Line 1 is just 400m south.

233-245 Dunlop Street West (Barrie)

This residential development stands 8 storeys tall and brings 96 new units to the area. Developed by MDM Developments and designed by ISM Architects Inc, it is located on the south side of Dunlop Street West, east of Boys Street South in the Queen's Park neighbourhood of Barrie.

The Kipton

Developed by Princess Management and designed by Turner Fleischer Architects, the Kipton is located west of Kipling Avenue on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West at 55 Warrender Avenue. The 16-storey tower contains 259 market-rate rental units.

Norfinch Oakdale Maintenance & Storage Facility

Located at the northwest corner of Finch Avenue West and York Gate Boulevard in North York, this Metrolinx facility was designed by Arup Canada, Dillon Consulting Limited, and DTAH to serve as the maintenance and storage hub for transit vehicles for the Finch West Line 6 LRT which is set to open in the coming months.

465 Vaughan Road

This 3-storey residential project is located at the northwest corner of Vaughan Road and Atlas Avenue, in Toronto's Oakwood-Vaughan neighbourhood. Developed by OOH Vision Inc and designed by Bernard Watt Architect, it brings 7 new units to the area.

Illumina Condos (Burlington)

Developed by the Molinaro Group, this 22-storey residential tower is located in Burlington at 492 Brock Avenue, south of Ontario Street. The development is located about 300m north of Lakeshore Road, and a short walking distance from Burlington's downtown.

Gore Park Lofts

Located in Hamilton, this 6-storey residential project is developed by Scholar Properties and designed by Thier + Curran Architects Inc. Located at 121-125 King Street East on the northwest corner of King Street East and Catharine Street North in Hamilton's Beasley neighbourhood, It brings 40 new residential units, along with retail, to the historic Gore Park neighbourhood.

Pavilia Towers

Developed by Times Group Corporation and designed by Icke Brochu Architects, this development in the Thornhill area of Markham consists of two towers, one standing 33 storeys and the other 36 storeys, bringing a total of 769 new units to the area. The site is located at 95 South Park Road, on the south side of Highway 7 east of Bayview Avenue.
