The 2023 Ontario Culture Days festival is set to happen from Sept. 22 to Oct. 15, with 13 free festival hubs including ones in Guelph and Elora/Fergus.
The festival presents hundreds of events for all ages.
Gary Filan, president and chair of Ontario Culture Days, said these events provide a perfect time to explore cultural offerings across the province.
“This year’s fall festival promises to be an unparalleled celebration of creativity, diversity and the power of artistic expression,” Filan said.
Festival hubs will be in Elora/Fergus, Thousand Islands and Gananoque, Guelph, Halton Region, Ottawa Region, Sault Ste. Marie, Scugog, South Georgian Bay, St. Catharines and Niagara Region, Thunder Bay, Toronto (Queen West), Vaughan and Windsor.
Each hub has a dedicated event page so visitors can get more information online.
Ruth Burns, executive director of Ontario Culture Days, said they increased the number of hubs due to “strong enthusiasm” from Ontario communities.
“It is heartwarming to witness how Ontarians are eager to come together and celebrate the culture in our neighbourhoods and beyond,” Burns said.
The fourth edition of the Creatives in Residence program will also spotlight unique artistic projects, she said.
It is a five-month-long residency program collaborating closely with communities.
In Toronto and Guelph, this artist is Alisa McRonald, with her “Fables in Yarn” exhibition and collaborative art creation.
