The City of Vaughan will be extending Kirby Road between Dufferin Street and Bathurst Street. The project is underway and expected to be completed by summer 2026.
Just the Facts:
Impact: Currently, commuters travelling to and from Kirby Road are restricted to using Teston Road or King Vaughan Road as their east-west connection. The extension will help ease gridlock and relieve pressure on the transit network.
The proposed speed limit will be set to 60 Km/h.
When: The project is currently underway and expected to be completed summer 2026.
Why: The extension will complete the missing link between east Vaughan to west Richmond Hill. It will shorten travel times and provide pedestrian options. The extension will also offer enhanced cycling networks and future transit services and help improve emergency response times.
