Markham Mayor’s Black Youth Liaison presents The Reading Circle

Markham Mayor’s Black Youth Liaison will present "The Reading Circle" at Aaniin Library (5665 14th Avenue) on Saturday, July 29 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Children aged 5-12 are invited to the free event which will include reading buddy sessions and engaging discussions with high school and university volunteers, a food truck, an on-site fire truck and a special guest reading. There will also be the opportunity for attendees to connect with Black community organizations.

The Reading Circle aims to promote literacy, community trust, and the foundation for representation of Black youth in Markham.

Mayor Frank Scarpitti is scheduled to attend the event.
