City of Vaughan's business planning launch pad series returns in August

Virtual business training offered Thursday nights in August over four weeks

The City of Vaughan’s business planning launch pad series returns in August.

The launch pad delivered by the Vaughan Business and Entrepreneurship Centre is a free virtual program designed to support startups and established small businesses with training sessions. In addition, participants can book 30-minute one-on-one meetings with one of the Vaughan’s entrepreneur advisers to receive feedback on their feedback on their business and financial plans.

Each session covers one of four training topics:

• Ideation -- learning how to validate a business idea

• Marketing -- Learning about target markets, unique selling points and marketing basics

• Operation and Sales -- Learning about effective sales approaches and risk management

• Financial -- Learning about finances, budgeting and cash flow management and how to complete the Starter Company Plus program financial templates and finalize a business plan

Participants will have the opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 in provincial grant funding and will be guided to complete different elements of your business plan in reference to the Starter Company Plus program.

The schedule for the August Business Planning Launchpad Series:

• Ideation: Thursday, Aug. 3 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

• Marketing: Thursday, Aug. 10 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

• Operation and Sales: Thursday, Aug. 17 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

• Financial: Thursday, Aug. 24 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
