There’s still plenty of time to participate in the Newmarket Public Library’s summer Storywalks.

Stroll through town parks while reading "Kate and the Dragon," written by Val Murray and illustrated by Sarah Johnston.

Visit Paul Semple Park, at 145 Savage Rd., from July 24 to Aug. 11, and the Environmental Park, on Woodspring Avenue, from Aug. 14 to Sept. 1.

Library staff will be at Paul Semple Park on July 24 and Aug. 3 and 10 and at the Environmental Park Aug. 17, 24 and 31 at 10:30 a.m. for special storytimes, weather permitting.

The outing blends nature, storytelling and family fun.

You can also take part in downtown Storywalks, hosted by the library and the Newmarket Downtown BIA, featuring the story "Treasure" by Mireille Messier and illustrated by Irene Luxbacher.

Start at the library, at 438 Park Ave., to pick up a map at customer service on the main floor.

Use it to follow the route to read the book in the windows of participating businesses and community agencies downtown.

Then, return to the library and fill out a ballot in the children’s department on the second floor for a chance to win a prize.

Storywalks are done in partnership with the town and the TD Summer Reading Club.
