Help shape Georgina’s economic future, tourism activities

Georgina is looking to strengthen and diversify its local economy through a five-year economic development and tourism strategy.

And the town needs your help to shape economic development and activities by providing direction and guidance for both the short and long term.

The world has changed dramatically over the past few years and the business landscape is different. The town is taking this opportunity to seek guidance from the community to collectively determine the best way to ensure a strong and resilient Georgina economy.

The town’s economic development and tourism department is hosting a public open house from 5 to 7 p.m. July 26 at The Link, located at 20849 Dalton Rd., in Sutton.

And residents and businesses are invited to participate in an online survey to further understand Georgina’s economy and define potential opportunities for sustained growth.

The online survey closes Aug. 5.

The town is also hosting sector-based focus groups, by invitation only, between July 26 and 27.

Community input, together with other reports, business data and strategies, will help in identifying direction and priorities for future economic development and tourism activities in town.
