WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? Construction begins at CN Rail bridge at track level in Vaughan

York Region is in its third year of working to widen and improve Rutherford Road from Hwy. 400 to Westburne Drive to accommodate growth, ease congestion and create transportation options for all travellers.

JUST THE FACTS

What: Work is currently underway on the CN Rail bridge at track level. Lane restrictions may be required in the coming weeks to facilitate work during off-peak hours. Work is also anticipated to begin on a culvert west of Greenock Drive

Impact to travellers: To facilitate work on the culvert, the eastbound left turn lane at Greenock Drive is restricted to a shared thru-left, which will remain in place until end of the year when culvert work is complete. Lane reductions may be in place Monday to Friday between 9:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m., to complete road and sewer work from Jane Street to Westburne.

When: Construction began on Aug. 3, 2021, and is anticipated to be completed in the summer of 2024.
