Georgina council approved the contract for the 2023 road repair program last week. The work will involve surface treatments, patching, crack repair and asphalt resurfacing and rejuvenations on various roads throughout the town.

Residents affected by the work will be notified through door-to-door distribution of flyers and door knockers that will contain information about the planned work, anticipated start and end dates, requests to temporarily relocate vehicles (if applicable), and contact information for the town’s project manager.

As part of the road repair program, engineering design will start for the reconstruction of Black River Road (east of Park Road), Boyers Road and Riverglen Drive. As the design work progresses, public information sessions will be planned for community engagement.

The town’s “Building Georgina” website also includes updates on the various major capital projects around town, including road reconstruction, facility expansion and water and wastewater projects.

The page has details on the Cockburn Watermain Replacement and Hedge Road Bank restoration, which both also had contracts approved recently.

There are also details about the Udora Gravel Road project and the Old Shiloh Bridge Environmental Assessment.
