Does the proposed route for the Bradford Bypass make sense?

Are there better alternatives?

How will the highway impact residents’ lives and is this the best use of $2 million to $4 million of taxpayer dollars?

Those questions and more will be addressed at three upcoming public town halls set for York Region in June.

The events, to be held in Bradford, East Gwillimbury and Sutton, are hosted by FROGS (Forbid Roads Over Green Spaces), Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition, Rescue Lake Simcoe Coalition and volunteers.

Organizers hope the public forums will help residents, media and elected officials better understand the implications of the bypass connecting highways 400 and 404.

Residents and environmental groups, with the support of lawyers, ecologists and health professionals, analyzed the proposal and hope to share their observations about how this plan would affect the area, traffic, health and environment.

The town halls are free and walk-ins are welcome. Residents are encouraged to bring their questions.
