Homicide unit investigating after double shooting in Vaughan

Members of the York Regional Police Homicide Unit are investigating after an early morning shooting at a plaza in the City of Vaughan which left one man dead and another in life-threatening condition.

On May 24, 2023, at 3:50 a.m. York Regional Police responded to a call for a shooting at an industrial plaza on Creditstone Road near Highway 7 West. Attending officers located two adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. One male victim was found without vital signs and has been pronounced deceased. The other male victim was transported to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is still in its early stages. At this time, there is no suspect information.

It is believed there were several people in the area at the time of the shooting. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators are urged to come forward, along with anyone who has video footage or dashcam recordings from the area around the time of the incident.
