Canada's Wonderland riders stuck on Flight Deck after ride malfunction

Riders on Canada's Wonderland's Flight Deck roller coaster were left dangling in mid-air for 45 minutes after the ride got stuck just days after from opening weekend.

On May 10 at about 4:30 p.m., revellers were stuck on the ride's lift hill for about 45 minutes before Wonderland crews managed to drag them to safety and disengage everyone from the ride.

"The park’s maintenance team inspected the ride, got the train moving and guests were unloaded safely by 5:15 p.m," Wonderland spokesperson Grace Peacock wrote.

She added there were no injuries and the ride is now operating normally.

Rides at the park have similarly gotten stuck in the past, including last year, when Behemoth stopped with riders on board during a powerful storm.

During the park's opening weekend this year, there were several fights, leading York Regional Police to implement Project Beehave to help prevent further incidents.
