The Major Mackenzie West Terminal is finally complete.
The 12-platform York Region Transit (YRT) bus terminal near major sites, such as Canada’s Wonderland and the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital, is now open to the public.
Located on Major Mackenzie West Drive West and Amusement Drive, west of Jane Street, in the City of Vaughan, the new terminal will feature accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists and transit customers coming in from every direction.
The terminal building on the east side will provide seating, washrooms, free public Wi-Fi and transit displays and will be fully accessible.
Bus routes serviced by the terminal include: 4 Major Mackenzie, 20 Jane, 720 -- Hwy. 407/Wonderland, 760 -- Vaughan Mills/Wonderland.
While Mobility On-Request, the York Region accessible public transit service, will be operational there in summer 2023.
In addition to YRT buses, two GO bus routes, the 47W -- McMaster/ Hwy. 407 Terminal and 52X Oshawa/Hwy. 407 Terminal will also service the terminal as of May 6, 2023, to provide seasonal transit to Canada’s Wonderland during weekends and holidays.
Currently, there is no parking, but a pickup and drop-off area is located on the west side of the terminal.
