The City of Vaughan is constantly evolving. It's one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada and its projected growth will account for almost one-third of York Region’s total growth over the next three decades.

You may be wondering: how does Vaughan guide development in a way that will continue to align with what we value most? Through the Official Plan.

HOW DOES THIS IMPACT YOU?

This plan will guide the community’s growth into 2051. It is a strategic planning document that outlines the vision for the future of our city, including growth and development, land use policies, density and housing supply, protection of environmental features and agricultural areas and much more.

Do you have a vision of the city you want to live in 10, 20 or even 30 years from now? We take a forward-looking approach to plan for the future of Vaughan, and your input has helped shape the direction.

SO, WHAT’S HAPPENING NOW?

Vaughan’s Official Plan Review is well underway -- and the updated plan is starting to take shape. The feedback collected throughout the review process has helped us identify your needs, determine focus areas and establish priorities.
