WHAT’S GOING ON HERE? Construction on Major Mackenzie from east of Bathurst to Yonge in Richmond Hill

Local residents and business owners are advised to prepare for construction on Major Mackenzie Drive from east of Bathurst Street to Yonge Street, from late April to September.

JUST THE FACTS

Roadwork will occur on weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The majority of the roadwork, including paving, will occur between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The road will remain open to through traffic, however, lane restrictions will be required to complete road improvements.

The following work will be taking place:

• Road improvements: Removal and replacement of asphalt road surface.
• Intersection improvements: Upgrading traffic control signals and lighting, other improvements to meet the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) such as audible pedestrian signals, crosswalk ramp reconstruction at signalized and non-signalized intersections.
