Some Vaughan residents may notice an increased police presence Tuesday.

The Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services are participating in a “planned, co-ordinated police-led exercise” around 8 a.m. in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive and Jane Street.

The York, Durham and Toronto police forces, as well as York Regional Paramedic Service, will take part.

“Residents are advised that there will be a large police and first responder presence,” city officials said in a statement.

“You may see flashing lights, many uniformed first responders and a helicopter over the immediate vicinity.”

Officials reiterated there is no threat to public safety.
