When you turn on a tap, you can rely on the City of Vaughan’s safe, high-quality and reliable drinking water system to deliver fresh and clean water to your home or business. The City continues to prioritize this precious resource by investing in infrastructure to help protect it for generations to come.

Each year, the City produces a full report on the water quality and operational performance of Vaughan’s drinking water system. Here are highlights from the 2022 report:

The 2022 Annual Drinking Water System Report, which was ratified at the March 21, 2023 Council meeting, shows how the City continues to achieve strong and consistent water quality levels and provide safe and reliable drinking water to all residents and businesses. Even so, the City continues exploring opportunities to adopt innovative approaches to further enhance the drinking water system now – and into the future.

Every municipal residential drinking water system is regularly inspected by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to assess compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002.
