York Regional Police is looking for suspects after a shooting and assault in Vaughan.

Just before 1 a.m. on April 12, officers responded to a parking lot near Islington and Steeles avenues following a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found three victims: two men who had gunshot wounds and one who had been physically assaulted. The victims were taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police believe several suspects fled the area in a white BMW sedan with front-end damage. The exact number of suspects is not known and there isn’t any more information about them or the vehicle.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and there is no threat to public safety.

Any witnesses who haven’t spoken to police, and anyone with video such as dash cam or surveillance recordings in the area around the time of the incident, are encouraged to contact investigators as soon as possible.
