Bradford West Gwillimbury is hosting its second annual Volunteer Appreciation event in recognition of National Volunteer Week, April 16 to 22.
On April 20, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., volunteers with the Event Volunteer Program and BWG Leisure Centre programs will be invited to the multi-purpose room at the BWG Leisure Centre for the volunteer appreciation event.
It's an opportunity to formally recognize and thank the volunteers for their exceptional efforts. This year's theme is 'BWG Appreciates you'. The event will include refreshments and appetizers by Off Cut & Co.
The Event Volunteer Program began in 2017 and established a group of volunteers that have helped with various community events in town, including Canada Day, Carrot Fest, Santa Claus Parade, and more.
Through the program, the town has been able to expand events and provide a higher level of service to the community.
"Volunteers play an important role in putting on successful events and programs for our community. We want to take a moment to celebrate and thank them with this event," said Mayor James Leduc.
