The snow may be falling, but spring is right around the corner. The COVID-19 pandemic has been tough on everyone. We have spent a lot of time taking care of our family members, but it is time to do something for ourselves. Check out the available recreation programs for adults on the Georgina programs page and the 55-and-up program page.
Take free yoga or fitness classes, or try tai chi at the Georgina Gym. Feeling shy? Call a friend and go together.
Did you know that The Link, in Sutton, has a wide variety of programs as well? Visit the Georgina programs and events page to find your next experience.
Make a plan and visit your local library branch. There are endless options to borrow interesting material, sign up for programming or just spend some time enjoying being out in a community space.
Feeling overwhelmed? Gardening has been proven to be a natural stress reliever. It’s a great time to start seeds indoors for spring, and it’s fun to see new sprouts appear. Lake Simcoe Gardeners is having their 50th anniversary this year -- why not join in the celebration and meet some new people?
Surprise a friend and call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. Why not invite them for a walk outdoors? A lunch date? It will be good for both of you, and a great way to catch up.
If you are still feeling the winter blues, remember that barbecue season is coming sooner than you think!
Let’s get moving again!
