Always dreaming yourself going from Markham to Marvel? Here is the chance to unleash your potential and shine like never before.
Markham is going to launch the Markham Talent 2023 Open Casting Call, the first-ever York Region wide talent hunt for performing artists. You will have the chance to showcase your talent to an exemplary judging panel of A-listed celebrities including:
Aideen O Brien, Juno Award board member;
Brian Levy, casting director of The Next Step;
Amy Wright, producer/dance choreographer/casting director of The Next Step;
Robert Laidlaw, singer-songwriter/Juno Awards nominee;
Patricia Jarosz, talent manager;
Cynthia Cully, model agent/manager;
Dr. Sarah Bay-Cheng, Dean, York University, School of Arts, Media, Production and Design; and Samantha Aucoin, actress.

The open casting call is for all talents work or study in York Region. Literally it is open for all ages to compete in two groups:
16 and under
17 and over
And there are four major categories:
Dancer
Singer/Songwriter/Musician
Actor/Comedian/Magician
Model
The event is organized by Markham Arts Council and Markham Ward 6 Councillor’s office to promote performing arts and entertainment industry in the City of Markham. Registration will be closed on Monday, May 1 at 5 p.m.
There is a non-refundable registration fee of $50 per registrant, which includes two tickets to the semifinal shows on May 12-13 and two tickets to the final on May 13 at 7 p.m. Additional ticket can be purchased at $25 each.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Markham Arts Council which has the mission to support and promote local Markham artists on a global scale.
