One of the highlights of the summer in the city, the Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival has been recognized as a Top 100 event in Ontario.

“Having the 2022 Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival recognized by the FEO Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario is especially meaningful, and acknowledges the hard work and dedication our teams brought forth to bring this in-person event back after two years of virtual-only events,” said Chris Rickett, director of economic growth, culture and entrepreneurship at the development services commission at the City of Markham.

The Top 100 Awards by the Festivals & Events in Ontario (FEO) acknowledge festivals and events that excel within the Ontario event industry and represent some of the most well-known and respected celebrations in the province.

The festival is family friendly and offers a wide variety of fun, safe and educational play zones, activities, entertainment and food options for families of all ages.

Mayor Frank Scarpitti said, “Throughout the day, there’s something for everyone and fun-filled activities and entertainment for kids of all ages to enjoy. We can’t wait to see the community back again this summer for more fun!”

This year’s Markham-Milliken Children’s Festival takes place Sept. 9 at Aaniin Community Centre. More details will be available this summer at markham.ca.
