As part of Georgina’s annual playground replacement program, Bayview Park will be upgraded this spring.
JUST THE FACTS
- Location: Bayview Park, 106 Bayview Ave., Keswick
- Updates to the park will take place in May and there may be some disruption to services and park use for a number of days.
- The new park will feature an interactive and accessible design along with a new composite structure with slides and climbing features and new swings.
- Instead of using the existing pebble rocks, the new playground area will use an engineered wood fibre (wood chips) base.
- In 2022, council approved dedicating $150,000 in reserve funds annually for the next ten years to replace one to two pieces of playground equipment each year. Many existing playgrounds are at or nearing their 15 to 20 year life cycle.
- Playground replacement is based on age and condition of play equipment and amount of repairs required to the existing structure.
