Community invited to Aurora and Newmarket's Central York Fire Services first responders event March 4

The community is invited to Central York Fire Services’ new station March 4 for the second annual International Women’s Day First Responder Community Event.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., join firefighters, York Regional Police, York Region Paramedic Services and the Ontario Provincial Police at the fire hall at 300 Earl Stewart Dr. in Aurora as they celebrate International Women’s Day and the role that first responders play in keeping the community members of York Region safe, secure and healthy.

Learn how they do their jobs and how you could have a career as a first responder too.

The event has something for everyone, including an opportunity to visit with more than 20 local and regional organizations, businesses and entrepreneurs who serve York Region and beyond.

There will be demonstrations and equipment tours, interactive activities, free giveaways and a chance to win prizes.

The event is free.

It will take place primarily indoors within the fire station but there will be activities set up outside of the station. Please plan to dress for the weather.
