The City of Vaughan is developing its 2023 to 2027 Multi-year Accessibility Plan.
The city is asking for input from residents around accessibility barriers and for residents to share their stories until April 2.
Vaughan’s goal is to create an accessible community by 2025, building on the previous 2019 to 2022 plan. The city is trying to ensure that people of any age or ability are treated in a way that maintains their dignity and independence.
In the plan, the city will try to outline various activities and initiatives run by the City of Vaughan that will support accessibility, including implementing new programs and services, creating play spaces, using accessible technology, implementing employment practices and achieving additional Rick Hansen Gold Certifications.
Citizens wanting to share their story or give their input can do so by emailing accessibility@vaughan.ca or visiting Vaughan.ca/accessibility.
