The Town of Newmarket plans to provide significant upgrades to four playground parks and wants your input.

The town is hosting a public information session to discuss proposed improvements to Arnhem Park, Frank Williams Park, John Georgas Park and Claire Salisbury North. Improvements include new playground structures, with the town seeking resident input on what might get included.

The town said the parks would be updated this summer as part of a “commitment to provide our residents with beautiful, enjoyable, accessible and safe parklands. Residents can provide their feedback on the types of play structures such as swing types and more.”

The information session will include new playground drawings to review, which will be uploaded online after the meeting. All four of the parks are slated to get new playground structures, as well as resurfacing to engineer wood fibre for accessibility needs. Both Frank Williams Park and Clare Salsibury North will also be getting new swing sets.

The drop-in information session will have Newmarket staff available to answer questions. The town said feedback could include what playground structures you would like to see and the number of swing types to be included.

The information session will take place at the town office at 395 Mulock Dr. on March 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. More details from the session will be uploaded after March 29 to heynewmarket.ca/playgrounds.

You can provide feedback to parks@newmarket.ca or through heynewmarket.ca.
