Vaughan Mills is expected to open as usual this morning following an overnight robbery where a car was used to smash its way into the mall, York Regional Police Duty Insp. Jason Turner said.
Police remain on the scene the morning of Feb. 1, he said.
Hours earlier, at about 1 a.m., a vehicle smashed into the shopping centre as part of a smash-and-grab robbery, Turner said.
The suspect or suspects drove through glass doors, robbed a store and drove through another set of glass doors to escape, he said.
Police are searching for whoever is responsible and the investigation is ongoing.
Police aren’t releasing information on the store or items robbed until the owner is notified, Turner said.
