There’s no snow relief in sight for Toronto, as forecasters are calling for another dumping later this week.
Wednesday’s record-breaking snowfall will continue to pile up with more snowy weather expected in the next few days.
Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson said Pearson International Airport saw 13.8 centimetres of snow yesterday, with the previous record for Jan. 25 being set at 7.8 centimetres in 2005.
He added that the GTA could see an additional five to 10 centimetres of snow Saturday night into Sunday.
Cold weather is also expected to hit the GTA, with temperatures expected to drop to a low of near -9C with the wind chill tonight and continuing for the rest of the week.
“The snow is going to stick around,” said Coulson. “It looks like with the temperatures we’re forecasting over the coming days, we’re going to have this snow hanging around for the next little while.”
Here’s the rest of your forecast for this week.
