Whether you’re a long-time resident, new to town, a visitor or just work in Georgina, share your thoughts on future priorities for the town.

The town launched its Game Plan initiative and is looking for community feedback for the town’s next strategic plan -- a list of high priority for the four years.

Focus for the next strategic plan will be community-led and include creative ideas for community-based strategies, acting as a guide for town council and staff.

“We want to work with our community to help shape Georgina’s future,” said Mayor Margaret Quirk.

“I encourage all residents to get in the game.”

The survey asks how members of the community experience Georgina -- as a full-time resident, cottager, business owner, employee or visitor -- along with how much and where time is spent in town.

Along with where and how you spend your time, the town also wants to know what’s Georgina’s best attribute, from community safety and a strong sense of community to transportation and employment options and access to greenspace and trails.

The Game Plan also asks the community to rank council priorities for the next four years.

Priorities listed in the Game Plan include environmental initiatives and protection for Lake Simcoe; creation of full-time employment and vibrant downtown areas; development of the Keswick Business Park; encouraging a range of housing options; improvement of roads, trails and sidewalks; investments in parks and waterfront; enhancement of recreation options; fostering arts and culture; strengthening partnerships with the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation and advancement of online services.

Along with improving roads and trails, the town also wants community feedback on inclusion and diversity initiatives.

The Game Plan project team will be out and about in the community to gather feedback from the community.

Share your thoughts and participate in interactive family-friendly activities.

The Game Plan project team will visit:

Georgina Ice Palace, 90 Wexford Dr., Keswick -- Dec. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and

The Link Winter Market, 20849 Dalton Rd., Sutton -- Dec. 11, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those who complete the survey will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a two-hour tubing pass at The ROC or one hour of free ice time at one of the town’s arenas.

The online survey closes Dec. 30.
