The Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) will be hosting the country’s tallest walk-through LED holiday tree.

On Wednesday, Nov. 30, the VMC will unveil their 114-foot-tall LED tree, boasting over 70,000 lights. Residents of Vaughan are welcome to attend, free of charge, between 6 and 8 p.m. The tree illumination will begin at 6:30 p.m. at 100 New Park Place in Vaughan.

“In a world where it sometimes feels like everything is being cut back and cancelled, we felt like everyone could use a reason to gather around and celebrate,” said Mitchell Goldhar, executive chair at SmartCentres.

In addition to the festive lights, residents can treat themselves to live holiday music and warm treats and drinks. Free parking will be provided.

The tree will tower over Toronto’s 108-foot-tall Christmas tree at the Eaton Centre.

The new city centre, located at Highways 400 and 7 in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, is designed to provide residents and visitors with the benefits of a life with parks and green space at their doorstep, combined with the vibrancy, energy and accessibility of an urban city centre.
