In-person Remembrance Day ceremonies to be held throughout Markham

In-person ceremonies for Remembrance Day will return throughout the City of Markham to honour Canadians who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
“This Remembrance Day, we honour and pay tribute to those who bravely defended our freedoms and made the ultimate sacrifice,” said Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “To the veterans who are still with us today, we say thank you. To those who are no longer with us, we will remember.”
Members of the public are invited to attend any of the ceremonies taking place between Nov. 5 and 11.
2022 MARKHAM DISTRICT VETERANS ASSOCIATION REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE
Emceed by legendary Canadian broadcaster Lloyd Robertson, the 2022 Markham District Veterans Association (MDVA) Remembrance Day service will include a parade, beginning at the MDVA building at 7 Washington St., followed by a cenotaph wreath laying ceremony at Veterans Square.

ANNUAL CITY OF MARKHAM REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY
Join members of Markham council and city staff to honour and remember our veterans. Following tradition, primary students will recite "In Flanders Fields" and the Mayors Youth Task Force will announce the winners of the annual poetry contest.

UNIONVILLE REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY
The Unionville Village BIA will hold a ceremony including short speeches and a wreath laying at the cenotaph.
