WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?: Major Mackenzie Drive West, east of Hwy. 400 getting a makeover

Improvements to Major Mack are coming full steam ahead. The City of Vaughan has steadily chipped away at larger renovations since the fall of 2020 and now there are going to be some major changes.
JUST THE FACTS:
- Starting from Nov. 1, paving work will begin from Major Mackenzie Drive east of Highway 400. The work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and is anticipated to be completed by mid-November.
- A new YRT bus terminal will sprout up at Major Mackenzie Drive West and Amusement Drive, within walking distance of the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital and Canada’s Wonderland. It will feature 12 bus platforms.
- Major Mackenzie West Terminal will have a phased opening starting Sunday, Nov. 6, where four platforms on the west side of the terminal will be serviced by YRT routes.
- The pedestrian path and walkway has been moved to the north side of Major Mackenzie Drive and is anticipated to be in place until spring 2023.
