The Community and Home Assistance to Seniors (CHATS) program with the City of Vaughan is helping older adults in York Region get peace of mind.
The program is available to residents aged 55 years and older or with age-related illnesses, for up to a maximum of 100 residents in Vaughan for the current winter season. Subsidies are available based on the completion of a financial assessment.
The CHATS program is a paid service that connects residents with pre-approved service providers for snow clearing services. It is available beginning Tuesday, Nov. 15 until Saturday, April 15, 2023.
Part of the service includes driveway snow clearing, walkway clearing to the front/main door and delivery of two 20-Kg bags of salt, if requested for residents to use themselves on their walkways at no extra charge.
To register or learn more about the program, call 1-866-677-9048 ext. 7669 (SNOW), or email snow@chats.on.ca, or visit chats.on.ca. You can also ask about the snow removal program for next year’s winter season.
