Brian Capitao

NAME: Mrs. Gianna Fracassi

OCCUPATION: Retired Catholic School Teacher

POSITION YOU ARE RUNNING FOR: Catholic School Trustee

PREVIOUS POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: I am an educator who is skilled as a special education specialist and elementary school teacher. My work in the community has been through the church and in various charity organizations.

WHY HAVE YOU DECIDED TO RUN?

My philosophy is there is always room for improvement, and there are many good strategies available to solve a problem. It’s all a matter of everyone working together to solve problems and make it right for the children. It’s all about the children and ensuring that they have an excellent standard of education.

HOW WILL YOU EMBRACE AND CHAMPION DIVERSITY?

The beauty of Catholicism is that our faith embraces cultures and welcomes everyone to the church. We are fortunate to have a community which is always making an effort to understand. I intend to support all policies and programs that continue with this progressive goal and effort.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP THREE ISSUES?

1. My first and foremost concern is to collaborate with the new Board of Trustees

and ensure a mutual philosophical understanding that we will

focus on the needs of the school communities and the programs

for the children.

2. The conditions of the school ranging from educational programs

to the actual physical conditions of the building (this includes the

filters) need thorough examination and updating.

3. Supporting parental involvement in their school community and

listening attentively to their concerns.

IF ELECTED, WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH IN YOUR FIRST 100 DAYS?

Work begins immediately and the financial and contractual matters that have been left hanging need to speedily and correctly brought up to date. The main focus will be on the educational programs for our children, and a client services policy, where questions from the parents and guardians are taken seriously and addressed in a timely and respectful manner.
